We Cause Scenes

There are many cities participating this year and as far as I know there is no group for Atlanta.
If you know of a group or are intrested in starting one please reply.

The No Pants 2k9 MARTA ride is now history! If you were one of the 26 brave souls that showed up... Mucho thanks! Everyone seemed to have had a great time. I'm starting another thread for reports. Log in and give us some highlights of your No Pants journey. Upload photos and overheard crowd comments and reactions. That will be the official clearing house for compiling the experience. Add facebook links if you put photos on your facebook page too. Go to that discussion for further info: http://improveverywhere.ning.com/group/atlanta/forum/topics/no-pant...
I found me some boxers! I think I just wasn't brave enough for briefs.

As Matt mentions, we'll likely do this in stages and the crowd is a major factor. If the crowd ends up small in spite of the RSVPs, we may start on one car or one train and disperse either to other cars on that train or to other trains. If more show up than we're imagining... things will change. Find the original videos of past NYC events if you have no clue about all this. The front page there is the best start: http://improveverywhere.com/

See you tomorrow! And plan on having fun!
Some of you may or may not know that this Saturday is the unofficially No Pants Subway Rides. Our friends in New York are encouraging us to partake in the festives in our own backyard. So, we hope you are down for No Pants MARTA!

The only rules REQUIRED FOR PARTICIPATION are:
1) Willing to take pants off on the subway and ride comfortably in your underwear.
2) Able to keep a straight face about it and deny that anything is wrong.
3) bring a backpack/bag to stow away your pants.
4) your Metro Card

This event will take place at 3:00 PM on Saturday, January 10. We will first be meeting at the White Arch near Underground Atlanta. When we’re organized, we will all head towards 5 Points. It is key that you do not talk to others once you enter the subway system. No one knows each other. We will wait for a train to arrive and we may let one train go before entering to make sure everyone is ready. It is essential that you first show up wearing your Normal winter clothes (hat, gloves, pants, etc)

So, sit in the car as you normally would. As soon as the doors shut at the stop before your Assigned Stop, stand up and take your pants off and put them in your backpack/bag. You are responsible for your own pants and they should be with you at all times. If anyone asks you why you’ve removed your pants, tell them that they were getting uncomfortable or something.

The goal will be that pantless riders will exit at there assigned stops and stand on the platform, pantless. You will then wait on the platform for the next train to arrive. Stay in the exact same place on the platform so you enter the next train in the same car as you exited the last train.

When you enter the next train, act normal. You do not know any of the other pantless riders. It is all just a coincidence that others also forgot their pants.

Have fun with this... you can even wear two pairs of underwear if it makes you feel more comfortable.

Now that you know your mission. Remember to be at the White Arch near Underground Atlanta at 3:00PM on Saturday, January 10th. Sharp! See you there.
(Just bumping message up for visibility; minor tweaks)

Yes, we've be planning to participate for quite some time. Thanks for the heads up. A Facebook event is at http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=122880910006 . Details:

This year, Gobi Lumberjacks is participating in No Pants 2009! No Pants is an annual event led by Improv Everywhere NY. It will take place in multiple cities on Saturday, January 10. The event is a subway ride. As the name implies, it occurs pantsless.

Our event will take place the same time as NY's, 3:00 PM on the 10th. The meeting place is the white arch near Underground Atlanta. For past participants, this is the same location as Mission Ruido and Mission Cueva.

Our rules are the same as NY's:

1. Do not come unless you are willing to get on a train pantsless.
2. If anyone asks why you are not wearing pants, tell them it is because you forgot.

Come wearing pants, with a bag to stow them in for later.

Looking forward to it!
I was setting something up for this and got a group committed. Then I discovered this link and since a location has already been set. I will just sync up with the 5 Points to ensure the massives.

One quick note. Remind people to wear normal clothes and simply take pants off on the platform/subway. Once pants are off... stow them away in your bag.

Excited to see more people involved.
Awesome Fredo. Send your group a link to the Facebook event. That has about 85 people so far (of course, you never know how many really show up).
Sadly I'm working 2-7pm, but if someone will cover my shift I'm down and so will be my pants.
Are pants going off before we 1st enter the train or are they going off on the stop prior, while on the train?

How many ppl are RSPV'ing?
We will probably be taking off pants on the train, in stages.
I can't wait!
I'd be up for it.
