If we are going to really do anything, it may be a good idea to schedule regular gatherings so we can plan effectively and feel like we are a real group (i.e. 2nd Saturday of the month at 10:00 a.m. at Starbucks at Eagle & Franklin or Moxie at Eagle & Overland- "in the middle for those from Boise and Nampa/Caldwell).

Really sorry - meant "tying" (buckling down) rollerblades and fishing "where" visible...will stop now... : )

Sorry - clearly, I should be going to bed...but thought of another one that could be fun after hitting "Add Comment"...a Greenbelt Freeze - people could be staggered along the Greenbelt, walking, on a scooter, sitting on the grass typing rollerblades, pushing strollers, fishing were visible near one of the bridges, talking on bikes, carrying soccer balls, tennis racquets, "Day at the Zoo" gear, etc...stagger between Anne Frank memorial and Morrison, or whatever length is permitted by number...

For the "off-shore gambling", could also rent paddle boats all at same time at Julia Davis, paddle out to the center of the pond, "tie up" to eachother in a circle and play poker for the entire time of the rental...could "ante" into an inflatable kids swimming ring lined with a bag to catch the chips...the park is generally quite busy in that area and people at the park are on foot and bike, may be more likely to notice and stop to watch...

The supplies to "bring in" would be people, cards, chips, lengths of rope to run between boats, and an inflatable kiddie ring "ante pot" for each group formed. Since the rings can be inflated while paddling out, everything can be concealed in pockets, so no one will have a clue before the groups start forming....the rings catch the chips and come back to shore, so no littering would be involved...As far as I know, there are no rules saying you must paddle and move during the rental....Don't know that anyone could say anything, since the rental would be paid for and the group would not be engaging in any disruptive or endangering behavior.

Hi -

I am not sure I will fit in with you all, but joined because my 17 year-old daughter and I are interested in trying and she and I both have friends who would probably be game to be involved in activities with us.

We are not interested in shocking, scaring or pranking people - the economy is doing a good enough job of that already - we just want to give people a reason to smile when they aren't expecting it, so "no pants rides" or "fake drownings" would not be for us...but we would be willing to be part of a freeze or "spontaneous" sing-along (or dance along) on 8th Street during First Thurday, or before the Meridian Dairy Days Parade, or be part of a mini production of "So Long, Farewell" from the Sound of Music in the baggage pick-up area at the airport when all the people from the 11:00pm-ish arriving flights are mulling around...

IDEA
You know what would be really funny, would be having agents stationed around town in various spots. Each group of agents would be singing a song from a musical. For instance, a guy agent could be in one of the downtown parks singing If Ever I Would Leave You with a female agent. A group could be around the statue outside of the capital while “Harold” sings Oh you’ve Got Trouble to a group of worried looking townspeople. It would make a scene and be fun. You would stay in character through the song, then disperse still in character. The townspeople would run off like they were going to get their children home and away from that pool table.
