For those interested in Helsinki participating to Freeze and don't read website there have popped up lately following info


Helsinki, Aleksanterinkatu, corner of Mannerheimintie by bronze stature, April 1 at 7 pm.

Don't know how big this is but I'm going there at least so come if you have any interest about this

Next year we'll do a global freeze on April 1 - maybe we could make the Helsinki one big!

The event we are staging is a kind of pause but also an April fools prank.

Oh, and just to clarify - none of the smaller freeze events in Helsinki during March are organized by us. There are several different groups of people aiming to do a Helsinki freeze in March.

Hi Scattja,

at the moment it looks like there will be several small freeze events in Helsinki during March. Some political, some not, I'm not even sure if they will all actually go any further than a facebook group.

Anyway I believe that by April the 1st it will be too late to stage a freeze event in Helsinki. Personally I think that after all the media exposure NY Freeze had, the freeze events are no longer a good idea at all. It will be instantly recognized as an event and that is not what we are trying to do with the Mieli Valta - group.

We in Mieli Valta were planning to participate in a Helsinki Freeze event on 29.3., organized by another Finnish group, "Sukkelo Borealis". But because of the smaller freeze events which are scheduled to be held earlier, the plan for 29.3. will be changed from freezing to something completely different. :)

I was finding it utterly ridiculous how many freezes were suddenly being pulled off within 2 weeks time range just in Helsinki. sheesh.
