Greetings Agents!
I hope you are all doing fine this holiday season!
Scene City is a really fun and exciting project for me, and while I have the time and will to work hard at it. I just don't have the skills to do everything, There is a very small group of people that do all the planning, operational management, financial backing, and support work for this group. Obviously none of us are paid for this time, we do it because it's SO MUCH FUN!
Some of you have been asking when the videos will be ready from our last few missions, I am just as eager as you to see them. Unfortunately all our video editing has been put in the hands of one of our agents, who is very busy right now in his professional life, and it's more than any one busy person can handle. I would do it myself, I have the equipment and the time, but I really don't have the artistic flair or editing skills for that kind of thing. We have a real need for video editors, if you have the skills I'd love to hear from you. I can even give you access to an editing desk if you don't have the hardware. Please send me a message if you can contribute in this way!
In addition to video editors, there are other positions that need to be filled at Scene City.
Here are just a few.
- Videographers
We need a dedicated group of agents that can film our missions.
- Photographer
One thing we aren't doing at all is taking pictures of our missions, wanna get involved with your still camera?
- Video Editors
Take our raw footage and turn it into a five star film.
- Technical Guru's
We need access to cool gear like concealable cameras, hidden microphones, special effects, whatever you got!
- Writers
Want to make our own Scene City musical mission in the spirit of "Food Court Musical" by Improv Everywhere. Your writing skills can make that happen!
- Reporters
Want to keep up our BLOG with stories about our missions?
- Door Openers
Do you work in media, radio, tv, news, etc? Do you have the connections we need to get featured on these media outlets? Do you work or own a business that would make a great location for a future mission? Message me and we'll meet!
- Recruiters
This is an easy one! I can provide any of you with Scene City business cards to give to your friends, class-mates, whoever! I will pay to print as many as you can hand out! You can also help online by using social networks like myspace and facebook to invite people to join us! This is a big thing, generally I can expect a turnout of 20-30 agents for a mission when given 2 weeks notice, If we double our pool of agents then our turnout will also double. In the near future I want to be able to call up 100+ agents on a moments notice, this kind of member base is essential for some of the kinds of mission we want to pull off in the future. It's going to take a lot of recruiting to get there!
- Marketing experts
If anyone of you works in marketing and wants to donate some time either by actively working to increase our member-base, or just as an advisor to me (admittedly not a marketing expert), that could go a long way to getting Scene City to the next level.
- Financiers
Scene CIty is a pretty low cost operation, but anything that I can't get through volunteers I'm having to fund myself! One thing i've been eyeing is a better web url for Scene City, but the current owner is asking more than I am willing to pay all by myself.
Besides the fun involved, one incentive to volunteer your time is access. Right now Scene City is still a young organization, all the shots are called by a few dedicated agents. Anyone who contributes significant time to this organization can easily get involved in the operational planning stages of future missions, thereby having an influence on what missions are done in the future, and how they are done. Plus, you might even get your own @scenecityimprov.com email address!
