We Cause Scenes

since people like to add 'hey I like your idea, how about this one' to existing threads, why don't we have a master brainstorm thead... so here it is. ideas for missions discussed, chewed, mulled, spit and perhaps even considered.

when thinking about a mission we should consider all angles, the action, the reaction and the documentation. we should ask the questions: does it move me, is it fun, or simply funny, will it cause a spectator to question breadth of his or her existence? let's consider the lasting impact of gurilla improv upon the LA landscape.

have at it folks,

Where do we get the dogs?

I've got one dog, but the opportunity for failure is exceedingly high.

Here's an idea...we just had the opening of the Americana in Glendale not too long ago...theres always a huge crowd of people, especially on weekends...what if we all dress up in the same outfits (such as harry potter wizard robes and stuff...as if we seriously just got outta hogwarts) and all ended up at the americana at the same time...and then go into different stores in huge groups as if we were were on some sorta fieldtrip.

i just got another idea, i came up with this before the south park episode and i have a witness, but anyways we start a circle in a public area where usually street performers are and we show off our "acoustic guitar hero" skills or our INSANE ddr skills...i c ould bring in a ddr mat and probably a gutiaro hero guitar aswell...and we have agents cheering them on talking about how they wish they were that good, and then we can also bring in other games like snake and pong.

Easier idea- Rock Band fanclub. Find any Dave and Busters or similar venue that has the Rock band arcade style Guitar Hero game (there's one in Irvine Spectrum), wait for someone to start playing, and descend upon them all at once and start cheering and rooting them on. Maybe singing along with the lyrics in unison. Could also do the same thing with DDR.

As cool as that sounds, I don't have the skillz to play.

Also, it could be an eye catcher, but doesn't seem extremely unique. It needs some kind of angle to make it unique and not be just a bunch of people playing games. Simply being at a usual street performance area doesn't quite cut it for me.

but thats the thing...we dont HAVE the games...the point is the amazing guitar hero person is playing without it hooked up to the game...just playing the toy guitar and everyone watches in astonishment "OMG I LOVE THIS SONG" when all you hear is clicking of the toy guitar..get it? its not hooked up. and for ddr...we'll have someone pull the mat out of their bag or whatever set it down a nd start improvising..not actually playing the game...as for something like snake or pong...we would need like a widescreen tv in some game store if they let us and get a crowd going...maybe in EB games or radioshack or something we can ask them for maybe 2 hours to setup a pong game next to an xbox 360 and ps3 and we have the whole crowd around the pong game

I hate to be a downer about this, but while it is a damn cool idea, I couldn't help but notice that it's been done before in DC: http://improveverywhere.ning.com/group/dcdefenestrators/forum/topic....
Not that it shouldn't be done here, though! Maybe it should somehow be given it's own twist to make it unique, no?

Great find. Yup, most great ideas have been done and this video made me want to do it even more. DC is far enough away, right?

Reply to This

Perhaps the twist should be a battle, between two imfamous "rock bands"

like a showdown, and the agents in the audience are supporting either band with shirts and signs and the ladies throwin their panties on stage..

Good find Ben...

It seems we aren't the ones who also think it's a great idea
