We Cause Scenes

Was riding the Muni Metro by Church St station yesterday, and had a thought.

What if we got a BUNCH of people together to dress up as priests, nuns, popes, monks, bishops, choir singers, etc. (I think Catholic/Christian themed would be most effective) and completely line either side of the lower platforms by the tracks.

We could all just be standing there as if waiting for a train, or maybe even better, we could pretend we were in church... by having someone at a makeshift pulpit preaching and have a crowd listening and shouting, "Amen!, Praise Jesus!, Preach Brother!", etc.

Having everyone dressed all churchy and just standing there all natural might be better, though. As the train entered the station, I was thinking what a hilarious sight it would be as the train pulls up, especially since it passes so much platform before it stops... and the automated announcement on the train usually says "Next Stop: Church Street Station".

Anyway, whatchyall think? If enough people are interested... I'd be happy to try to organize it, although it would be my first one, so help would be appreciated.

ANOTHER option is to do this on the J Church line. Start at Embarcadero station, with a group of nuns getting on, then at each station more and more people dressed up keep getting on (group of priests, a bishop, some monks, etc.). We could do this up until the Dolores Park stop, or up to Noe Valley (25th/26th St) and have various stops along the way where we'll have people get on.

Did this already happen?

No, not yet... I'd still be down for doing it at some point in the near future, though.

I forgot to mention, since Halloween is coming up, there are many places right now where people can buy pretty cheap costumes of this sort. Maybe we could even get some extra ones for people who don't have costumes, or for those that just want to join in.

that would be awesomely funny. I'd do that.
