Train Rain
By Agent Rodrigo H.
This is the second mission by desordinarios, causing scenes in Mexico city.
this sunday, a group of desordinarios realized that that the mexico city's metro stations were too dry. And because "el metro" is not going to the rain, we decided to take the Rain to el metro.
The sunday, our agents took out their best umbrellas, Jackets and rain clothes and arrived by themselves to chabacano station to give some mexicocitiers a trip that they wont forget in a long time.
The plan was simple: at 11 o'clock everyone took the first train and after travel as any normal person by one station, all our agents would act as if a strong rain were starting, using umbrellas, boots, newspapers and everything at hand trying to dont get wet.
The mission was a success. Some people, when they saw the umbrellas, just had a "what!?" face and started to look at every direction just to find another crazy guy using another umbrella! Some people were laughing out loudly and some others just tried to ignore us. some people also asked to some of us what we were doing, just to get a "covering from the rain man! you should do the same if you dont wanna go sick".
But almost no one could understood that it was another kind of rain: the rain of the imagination and surprise.
The best thing of the mission was that some people actually felt the cold drops over their heads and some others, maybe a little bit more "desordinarios" inside their hearts, saw the entire Rain and took an umbrella, and ran with us away from it.
At last, after a very successful second mission, we met at a café to chat about a lot of things: the organization of the group, french toasts, new internet sites (www.desordinarios.com) Wp blogs, possible next missions, the group logo and some other stuff.
Also, on a 100% improv spirit, we started a new tradition: make a freeze in situ for the waiters of the metting place of every mission. If you wanna know more about us, check out our ning group or our blog. Anyway, we're waiting for you with open arms!

Banana Phone Service Vendor at a Health Fair
This was our first mission and we got great responses from random people and even had people join us.
On Saturday and again on Sunday, we walked around the central area of the Home Health and Wellness Expo at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds demoing top of the line Banana Phone Technology. I've attached video and a picture on this page Here. They don't show everything that happened but you get a good idea.
I was a real vendor at the Expo and devoted half of my table to the banana phone and made a couple of signs and had a free standing banana holder.
At any given time we had 4-7 banana phones being used. That's not a lot but it was effective in that small area where 100-200 people were milling around. I heard comments like "That crazy guy's talking on a banana." "Is that a phone?" and "THAT'S A BANANA. NOT A PHONE" from a very adamant young girl. There were times when we would congregate around a cell phone user and exchange funny looks. A couple times we carried the Banana Phone ad to vendors and tried to sell them a Banana Phone Worldwide package. Some of them thought the bananas were really phones.
On Sunday I remember a family approached the table where I had the banana phones and we offered a demo. The children especially were interested in proving that it was not a real phone. They tried talking to us through the banana several times.
From Agent Thundr: My wife and I had alot of fun doing this Sunday with Christopher and other venders. My wife, Sheila had one of the funniest moments with the phone. A vender was eatting a banana in her booth as we walked by using our "banana phones", Sheila looked at her and asked her, " Are you eatting your phone?", the vender just looked at us kinda funny, then Sheila, talking into her "banana phone" said "Yes, she's eatting her phone! I didnt know you could do that!" she then turned to me and said "She must be out of minutes." The vender stoped eatting her banana and kept looking at us and then her banana. Cant wait for the next mission!
Name: Denver Mayhem (temporary until we get our butts moving and decide on a better name!)
Number of Agents participating: 7
Stunt: Light Music
When: April 5th
The mission: gather a group of agents on a crowded light rail car and have them spontaneously break out into song! More specifically, "The Lion Sleeps Tonight," by The Tremors.
This was Denver's first stunt, and unfortunately due to scheduling mishaps there were a low number of agents participating. However, the event itself went off wonderfully.
We had picked the second home game for the Rockies, so we were sure that the light rail cars would be plenty crowded. What we hadn't counted on was exactly how many people there would be in a car! Agent Wingo estimated about seventy in one car, and unfortunately out of seven agents, only four sung.
A few stops before Coor's Field (the Rockies stadium) was where we met. I distributed lyrics for the song and explained how things would work--one agent would start, and the rest would gradually join in. After a few minutes of rehearsal and the clarification of some details, it was decided that Agent Jeaux would start the song, followed by Agent Marino, then myself and Agent Marino's brother. Agent Jeaux and Marino would take the high part, while the men sung the "a-wim-a-waps" in the background. We'd start as soon as the train departed from the station just before Coor's Field.
The car itself was longer than we had anticipated, so we had to make our way towards each other in order to ensure being heard as a group. Agents Wingo, Sherman, and Crowden were filming. As the train left the prearranged station, Jeaux began the first lines of the song--"we-dee-dee-dee, dee-dee-dee-dee-dee, we-um-um-awayyy." Agent Marino chimed in for the next line, and soon we were jamming right there in the car.
Looking around as we sung, it was strange to see how people reacted: some didn't seem to want to acknowledge our existence, others were obviously engaged and enjoying the music. Some people even spoke louder to make themselves heard over the singing! As the last notes died away, the engaged ones provided a smattering of applause. Unfortunately, the song had only taken two minutes, and there was still another two to go before we could get off! We passed the time by promoting Denver Mayhem to passengers, and as the throng left to enjoy the Rockies game, we reconvened by the station exit.
It was agreed that the stunt would have gone ten times as better with ten more people--unfortunately some agents that we had thought were coming had received erroneous directions and couldn't make it! All in all, it was a generally successful mission, only with too few participants. Hopefully our next stunt will make up for it!
Denver Freeze is happening this Friday, and we're hoping to do a Light Music Redux on May 3rd! We'll also have mission videos and pictures up soon. :)
FM Theatre Power, a Hong Kong local independent troupe, organized "Frozen Times . Square Reborn" in HK's landmark--Time Square on 20-3-2008.
Over a hundred people "freezeed" in this busiest spot to feel the fresh air of Hong Kong Public Space .
This inspired HK Legislators and Councillors to join our action. FMTP organized "Councillors Version" of Frozen Times.Square Reborn on 11-4-2008 and aroused public's interaction with these official leaders through arts.
