OK folks I have been hanging back - waiting for someone to take the lead - but get the sense everyone else is waiting for the same thing right? lol.
So I would be happy to do it. Is that ok?
The proposal is that the main mission will be on Canada Day July 1.
We would have one or two small trials before that to get organized and drum up more interest. The first two trials might be lame - that's totally OK! It's important to get that done before a major mission with video etc on Canada Day when there will be LOTS and LOTS of people around to take it all in.
I am thinking an MP3 event would be a blast and would have a greater liklihood of great success. (By great success I mean a big number of participants, a big number of "victims/witnesses", and a good video recording to post on Youtube and the main Improve Everywhere site.)
If this sounds ok I will come up with some kind of test mission and choose a date and communicate the plan either in advance by email etc, or maybe it's best to wait until the day of the event and announ ce the instructions personally by voice.
Yeah I like that idea a lot. Go for it. I'll do the same thing. If it helps make people feel more comfortable about coming out to do something this weird you can just tell them it's a fundraiser. Who knows, maybe it will become one at some point. Anyway, Facebook thing sounds cool. Great way to invite tons of people at once. good call.
So I've finished the board and I'm thinking that the meeting place should be the Pavillion Parking lot and the game can be set up near that messed up intersection of Robie and Quinpool. If it's cool with everyone I was thinking we all meet around 1 pm and get going. All that people need is 1 black and 1 white shirt.
So, Recap: Human Checkers, 1pm, Pavillion Parking lot, May 10th, Bring friends and both a white and a black shirt.
Let me know if there's any issues and that jazz.
Peace,
Dan
