ooooh. Speaking of phones.

What about a cell-phone ringtone conversation? I know most cell phones these days let a person record audio, and then take that audio and use it as a ringtone. We could have 10, 15 people record different lines of a conversation on their phones and assign each ringtone to a specific agent, then pile them up on a table. Then, we have other agents call each phone in a way that'll have each ringtone go off at just the right time, creating a complete conversation.

I think we should have one number that everyone could call on the pay phone. If they pick up just start a conversation with them. It could be like "Is this Jamie" "No?" "Well, Who cares! I just need to talk to someone about my life. I'm a wreck. I just lost my job, and my husband wants a divorce" Then keep going on about random bad stuff that you are pretending is happening to you until they hang up. If they don't answer. We'll just have everyone in line leave a different message from a different person/company.

Or you could just pick a phone booth that can be called to.

One person calls the phone booth, and other agents act as a random pedestrians. When the phone booth rings, one agent walks curiously over to it, looking around (is anyone going to answer this? No?). Picks up the phone, and then has a conversation with the person on the other end. Some sort of dramatic conversation where the agent eventually breaks down and admits that their life is in shambles... and then they listen intently for a while. Then their face lights up and they say "thank you, Jill! Thank you, thank you!" enthusiastically. They hang up and walk away-- all smiles.

Next agent comes in (after a bit of time) and a similar thing happens. Different "life shambles," of course (and they needn't ALL burst into tears), but the agents all seek advice and leave the phone smiling. They must all mention that Jill is on the other end (as to establish that the same person keeps calling the phone booth).

Thank you, mysterious "Jill" phone friend. You have solved our problems.

(If a non-agent answers the phone, the caller agent will simply say this: "Jill like pickles" over and over in a very soothing voice. "Jill likes pickles.... pickles... PIckles... piCKles.... picklessss.")

yeah, I really like it that way instead.

A good way to draw bystanders in to take notice rather than just ignore someone else's telephone conversation (as is the norm) :

Have the agent answering the phone, at some point, describe the attire of the people nearby, then return to the conversation. Can you imagine standing in line and not listening in when someone has just described you to someone else over the phone?

Cell Phone relay
Go to a grocery store with equal number of Agents, choose neighboring aisles. Call Agent on opposite Aisle, engage in inane conversation. "Where are you?" "Chip Aisle, you?" Cereal Aisle, etc., then pass conversation onto next Agent by calling Agent next in line in opposing aisle.

Go to a furniture store and do a huge freeze at the actual displays. Somebody could be in a bed. Someone can be sitting it a table. It could be a very cool creative mission.

have a load of people go to a huge mattress store and everyone falls asleep on every bed

instead of just sitting there how about acting out scenes in like a Room Stores fake kitchens or bedrooms with like a family e.x. "mother" in the kitchen in an apron and dress like a stereotypical 50's housewife "making" breakfast kids walk in sit talk to mom about school and little "jimmy's" baseball game then "father" comes in tlaks about how hes late then leaves

scenes like that going on in different parts of the store that would be kinda cool
