A Day at The Forks: The Musical

I've always wanted to break out into song and dance like in musicals. I know the food court one has been done before, but what if we did one right in that building in The Forks where the elevator, buskers and mini donuts are...we could sing about how slow the elevator is, ATM not working, friend bailing out on meeting them, no money to buy mini donuts, someone on their "break" from one of the little restaurant places, and even someone posing as a busker and singing about that.

I'd be more than willing to write the song for it as well.

Do you think this would actually be do-able?

We could also do it in a mall, or... I forget when it is but like the home show and stuff... in the convention center...
I have always wanted to break out in musical somewhere, I would gladly help wright the music and produce some coreography(cant spell). But i would gladly help, an dit summer so all the school kids are out.
Are we allowed to do songs that have already been pu tinto musicals?
And I think this is very do-able, if we did need people im sure i could get at least 10 people to help sing and dance (im stage manager for the school musicals).

I think The Forks would hustle us out rather quickly; they're a bit uptight and they follow their insurance guidelines strictly.
How about at the BDI?

Ok, I've looked up the info the link to all the info is here, http://www.theforks.com/40/330/123, as for just the basics. 2008/09 Auditions take place May 24 & 25, 2008. so we've missed it this year. But because it will take awhile to get the music done and people, I think that we might have needed to take the time and done it next year anyways.
Or we could always try a different location if we want to do this earlier.

Regarding permission to do this, that might be a problem. Buskers must audition for a license from The Forks to be able to perform there, and auditions happen only once a year. Unfortunately, I don't know when.

I think we could do this, buskers need to get permission from someone at the forks inorder to preform there, so I'd say we should just contact them, if we apply under an act I don't think it would be no problem to get a spot to do this. As for musicians and stuff, we definitely have enough to pull of the music part. The biggest question there would be what types of instuments would we want to use while recording.

Getting permission would only be difficult if the person we need to contact doesn't have a sense of humor, hah.

Somewhat joking aside, if we have enough people who would be committed, I'd be willing to contact whoever we need to talk to about this.

Maybe. We'd probably need to get some kind of permission to pull that off, but if that works, then it'd be awesome. There are a lot of musicians on here, already, so it wouldn't be tough to get a band together, either to play there or to record the soundtrack.

No kiddin'. I have the sheet music to a lot of musicals, I could always copy a tune, change it in a little way to avoid copyright and to go along with whatever we're going with, lyrics- and choreography-wise, then arrange it for the instruments we need.
