We Cause Scenes

Teddy

The paparazzi's paparazzi

I live in beverly hills and of course, one day walking along i see 10 guys crowded arounda window of a store each with a foot long lens. who was in there? im not sure but it was bound to be someone famous. another time (i was informed of this from my mom) someone ran halfway across the street in the midst of oncomming traffic to grab someones photo who was in a car. furthermore, they even have a website that tracks where celebs go. my mission: we find out where a celeb will be one day and with a group of agents(the more the better 10+ would do but if we can get a group of 30-50+ itd be that much better) we stick around and wait for the paparazzi to show up and when they do....have few people run over them with a camera and microphone and start questioning them shoving tape recorders in their face while another group follows taking pictures of them wherever they go. pretty much follow them the whole day so they can see what its like to be on the other end. maybe even create our own newspaper and mail it to them with articles pictures from the day ....criticism and any ideas/feedback would be great please let me know what you think about this idea

I have one like this on my page, but we create a fake paparazzi scene around one of our agents. A lot easier than finding a real celebrity. Read it and tell me what you think.

I'm really looking forward to doing something like this. Still don't know if I'd rather photog a fellow agent or an unwitting participant, though, haha.

glad to hear from you guys...and i can try for a weekend or two to find paparazzi by finding celebs using one of those sites...maybe we can plan a day to meet up and arrange everything we can rpobably meet up on 3rd street or beverly center or the grove or something and discuss how many people we can get to make this possible and how much equipment we can get and work out all the minor quirks and everyd etail...im free pretty much everyday maybe we can meet up this weekend even at the annual mooning of amtrak?

sounds good teddy....well celebs are going to be hard...cause theres always going to be other paparazzi's following them to make it less seem why dont we have one agent undercover pretending to be a famous person just talking around and we can have other like 30+ agents being the paparazzi's cause real celebs will just get in the way of other paparazzi's but thats my idea....lets ADDON!!

oh to mabe improv even more a little bit instead of pretending one of our agents to be famous why dont we follow a random person or a family and pretend they are famous....im pretty sure they would be like wtf?!?!?!....im not even famous and well ask them questions and flash them with our cameras untill there blind...hahaha

if we had a giant group of fake paparazzi (agents, of course) targeting random people as if they were celebrities, or targeting fake celebs (also played by agents), in a crowded area, then that'll turn some heads. so i like your suggestion.
i think that the original idea here is too targeted towards a specific group - the paparazzi themselves. missions in general are usually focused on catching the public's attention, so if a mission is just targeted towards the paparazzi, or the scientologists like in that mission idea on the "GuerilLA Brainstorm" thread, the mission itself seems more just like a prank on that group rather than a way to make as many people in the area as possible stop and wonder.
where are the public in these ideas?

The paparazzi idea here isn't really "the original idea" because I posted one on my page on Feb 8th. Although, there may be even older versions I don't know about, the point is that (trying not to be a credit whore here) we remain clear on what version of an evolving mission we are talking about at any one time so that we can combine or refine them into the best idea we can. Just as there is an Ikea party in the works as well as an Ikea musical.

I would call my version, the older one, "Fake Paparazzi"
This new one I would call: "Reverse Paparazzi"

It's a good idea to think of titles for mission ideas. If you can't think of one, then the idea needs refinement and focus. Just like writing a script.

well we wouldnt go off to some quiet alley to follow paparazzi, but do it in public i mean youre in the mall you see a celeb walking around and then you see paparazzi...taking pictures of paparazzi and battling? the whole fake a celeb idea is was and will continue to be unoriginal, good idea, but still way too mentioned and probably overdone. i saw a pic awhile ago of someone that goes around and makes mario blocks...some even are punched out mario blocks with a fire flower comming out of it. that there...is genius.

"But still way too mentioned and probably overdone." What are you talking about man? When has this mission been done? Did IE do it already? Too mentioned? SO if we talk about something too much, we shouldn't do it? It's called REFINING the idea so it will be the best it can be.

Maybe I don't go to the mall enough, but I've lived in LA for about fifteen years and besides my work in the film industry, I have only had celebrity sightings a handful of times. Out of those, there were paparazzi involved ONCE. It's worth mentioning that Julia Roberts was one without paparazzi and the one who was being photographed, I don't even know who she was. Perhaps it was an overdone mission and I was the onlooker? Shit man, Jennifer Garner came to my best friend's birthday party at his house while she was on every magazine cover and there were no paparazzi anywhere.

So back to the point. How is it overdone? & How are you going to coordinate finding this occurrence that happens at random for such short periods of time as well as get agents there for it?? (Missions are typically situations where WE are in control of the situation and do not rely on chance.)

well then i guess youre right...but i cant find it i was sure though theres a website where you can see where celebs have/are going to be. and ive been living in beverly hills for 17 years...ive had my occasions of sitting next to beyonce at the cheesecake factory to being on the set of 24 watching them make the episode...but its true it would be difficult to find out where the paparazzi strike next unless someone on here was one.....watching us so they can grab pics of when missions take place.
