This is just a reminder that tomorrow is the International Talk Like a Pirate Day Bicycle Ride. We meet at 6:30 p.m. at Grant Park in Pasadena. The park is located at 1200 Cordova Ave. in Pasadena (91106). Meet at the corner of Michigan and Cordova.
This is a short ride but along the way we will yell to the crowds/each other some really awesome pirate jokes. It would be awesome if someone had a pirate flag (skulls and crossbones, perhaps) as I had trouble locating one.
Ah yes, please make sure to bring some booty (doubloons, that is) as we are ending our ride at the Old Towne Pub and they only accept cash. Bring a lock and necessary flat repair items (just in case). The pub is close to the Memorial Park Gold Line Station--in case you need a train ride home.

Oh yes, if we get there before 8:30 p.m. we avoid the $5 dollar cover charge so we take off at 7:00 p.m. promptly--more money for grog!!!!
ARRRRR!!!!!! See you there Buccanneers!

I was not perhaps as specific as I could have been. By "these groups," I meant Pas/SPas/SGV. I know that LA has had six missions already. I'm all for LA and I wish I could have made it to Mission 6 last weekend. My friends and I have come up with some original and solid ideas. However, it took me about one week to realize that it was pointless to post them on the LA boards. I'm not gonna complain. Why not investigate to see if it's possible to get at least one or two of them done? I'm willing to stick my neck out and try to make that happen. It seems most sensible for me to try to build a team out of these three groups and then invite LA people to be involved also. There's absolutely no reason why I shouldn't at least try. Maybe all the Pasadena folks are attending the LA missions but not using these boards. Maybe 90% have dropped out. I can't tell.
I don't know what beliefs you're operating with and therefore what is going to seem sensible to you. If you've got some suggestions I'd love to hear them. But I can't just call a mission if nobody's paying attention.

I believe that as long as we're all strangers, there's little chance that much of this will work. I understand that you're not comfortable. Perhaps some other time.

I can totally understand your cynicism. And I'm definitely not trying to twist anyone's arm. There's a lot of things that either cannot be done efficiently on this board, or cannot be done at all. Like building a team. If you want to do only ideas that require no planning, then that's fine, but I don't see enough evidence that even those can be pulled off only using this board because it's difficult or impossible to build the coalition necessary. Besides, if I'm going to make something happen, I don't even have a good idea what resources or commitment I'm really working with.
Yeah, I had a had a commitment that prevented me from going to the one this last weekend in Manhattan Beach. I've only known about IE for about two weeks now, but I've stopped checking the boards for a different reason, actually. I know the power of these things because I did some stuff similar to this back in art school. I've left a comment on everyone's page in the Pasadena group because I figure that's going to show up in people's email. You're the fourth person to respond in as many days. My friends and I have been coming up with some ideas that we think are doable, but they'll never be done by LA. If we want to do them we'll have to plan them ourselves. We have access to everything we need to do "Boxwalk" except the ropes and 2x4's which we'd have to buy, and a sufficient number of agents. We even have access to an HD videocam. We'd have to recruit some from LA. I posted 4 ideas on the boards.

Hello, I'm trying to find out if there are people in these groups who are still actually interested in doing this stuff.
